Light Blue Kitchen Painted in Parma Gray by Farrow & Ball
Farrow & Ball’s Parma Gray is the perfect light blue/grey color choice for a country kitchen with a modern floral pallete in the wallcovering and stools.
In this midcentury ranch in Mountain Brook, Alabama designed by Mark G. Sikes, a dense floral wallcovering by William Morris brings an of-the-moment je ne sais quoi to the relatively modest cook space. To the shock of her friends, the homeowner left nearly as-is, save for the addition of a new window, range hood, and island. Farrow & Ball’s Parma Gray on the kitchen cabinets complements the original lining inside.

Benjamin Moore Wedgewood Gray Kitchen
Wedgewood Gray is another chameleon shade of paint that can appear green gray in rooms with less light and closer to a light blue in rooms with more natural light.
In Jenna Bush Hager’s weekend retreat on Long Island’s woodsy North Shore, a fireclay apron-front sink from Rohl, glazed tile from Waterworks, and brass fixtures from Ferguson update the midcentury kitchen. The classic, soft blue paint (Wedgewood Gray by Benjamin Moore) adds a beachy feel to the cabinetry. “There’s something about this place—maybe its the farm stands close by—that makes me want to cook more, entertain more,” says Bush Hager.

Benjamin Moore Lake Placid Paint Color for the Kitchen Cabinets
My city kitchen is sleek, with clean lines and lots of chrome, but I wanted my country kitchen a little softer, calling to mind a Provençal farmhouse. My wife and I designed it together, settling on cabinets in robin’s-egg blue, creamy quartz countertops, and a chandelier that drips with lemons, which we brought back from a flea market in the south of France.
