For Vanity Fair style chronicler and social fixture Amy Fine Collins, weekends are spent far from the fashionable crowd, in a century-old house on Fishers Island that is the opposite of urban.
In the living room of the house, which was built in 1913 by architect John Cameron Greenleaf and decorated with the help of New York designer Robert Hoven, the custom-made sofa is upholstered in a Sahco fabric, the 1940s armchairs are American, and the 1970s side tables are French; the curtains are of a Brunschwig & Fils stripe, and the 1950s rug is by Edward Fields.
Painted Louis XVI chairs surround a 1940s table from Sutter Antiques in the living room; custom-made plaster sconces flank a mirror designed by Robert Hoven.
The entrance hall features a custom-designed rug by Doug and Gene Meyer and a painting signed by Giorgio de Chirico above an 1870s English chest.
