The sapphire inspired shade on the kitchen cabinets (Benjamin Moore California Blue) could have easily overwhelmed the compact cook space. The key to it’s success? Fearlessly using it in abundance. Though it may seem counter-intuitive, enveloping the room in the strong shade actually makes it less shocking and more welcoming than a single, outrageous does would have. A black base to the paint also keep it from going “electric” or “cobalt”. The butcher-block topped isalnd and reclaimed wood barstools give a grounded vibe.
