Zèphirine Drouhin Climbing Rose

A shade-tolerant climbing rose with romantic appeal. The Zéphirine Drouhin climbing rose is a timeless classic with a romantic allure. This shade-tolerant rose boasts old-fashioned fragrance and nearly thornless stems, making it perfect for fresh-cut floral arrangements. The striking antique dark pink blooms contrast beautifully with deep green foliage, creating a stunning display on arching branches. Each bloom lasts up to 10 days, whether left on the vine or brought indoors.

This vigorous grower is ideal for covering trellises, fences, or arbors, and its strong scent attracts butterflies, adding a magical touch to any garden. It’s especially well-suited for creating a privacy screen or defining a secret garden space.

Despite its beauty, Zéphirine Drouhin requires careful placement. It thrives best in open areas with good airflow to prevent powdery mildew, a common issue for this variety. Avoid watering in the evening and keep the foliage dry to maintain its health.

Celebrated as one of the few thornless climbing roses, Zéphirine Drouhin blooms profusely throughout the season, offering masses of medium-sized, highly fragrant cerise-pink flowers. With the right care and location, this award-winning rose brings immense pleasure and is a beloved choice for those who appreciate its beauty and fragrance without the worry of thorns.
